Gator Bowl Trip

I am so excited for the college football season. This is my favorite time of year and there is so much that can be done during this holiday season. College football bowl game season always provides a level of fun that makes the season even more exciting. I will be attending the Gator Bowl this season with my friend Tyler. Tyler and I have already gotten our excellent tickets for the Gator Bowl and are ready to see the University of Michigan win. U of M has had a season that started out great and went down hill fast. Mississippi State has promised to be worth the fight but I do not see any chance of them beating Robinson. He is amazingly fast and the entire University of Michigan squad is going to put up quite the fight during the Gator Bowl.

I will need to set my home alarm from www.besthomesecurity.com/adt-home-security-equipment.html before heading to the Gator Bowl. Tyler and I will be leaving a few days early to take in all that the Jacksonville area has to offer. After all, it is rather cold in Michigan during December. I am tired of dealing with this cold weather and am looking breeze to the warm breeze of Florida.

Christmas picture book for my son

Even though my son isn’t old enough to read, I really wanted to start him early on books. I’m a huge reader myself and I wish the same thing for him because I think that it helped me a lot in school. Also, I still get a whole lot of enjoyment out of it today!

I wasn’t that impressed with the selection of kids holiday books that I saw at our Wal-Mart, so I went online to try and find a few. As I was doing that, I actually came across the website www.clearwirelessinternetservice.com/wimax_deals_plans.html and after I read through it a little bit, I ordered one of the internet packages from it.

I found this really great kids Christmas picture book that I thought would be really cute for my son. It has Christmas and robots! Even though he’s still really young, I can already tell that he’s going to take after his father and like robots and science fiction. That’s okay with me and if that gets him into reading I can really support that.

Cookie cutter Christmas garland

I’m throwing a holiday party this weekend and I’m still decorating the house for it. It’s been kind of stressful around here lately so I didn’t do as much Christmas decorating as I normally did this year, but I’m having to make up for it now. You just can’t go to a holiday party with hardly any decorations around!

I threw out our garland last year and didn’t buy any replacement this year but I thought that I needed something to replace it this year. So I went online with our WIRELESS INTERNET to try and come up with a creative alternative that I could put together with stuff that we already have.

That’s when I found an idea to make some cookie cutter garland. You simply take some holiday ribbon and string cookie cutters along it with space in between them and hang it up like garland. It’s so cute and I’m sure it’s going to draw some more attention than just regular old green garland. I got my daughter to do it for me in a short amount of time too.

Will The Real TCU Please Stand Up

When you think of national college football conference championships and the national title game, you don’t often think of TCU. However, they have done their job. They have won every game they have played, which has allowed them to move up to #3 in the rankings. But they have not had a very difficult schedule. What if they had to play five Top 20 teams this season? Would their record be as good as it is now? I highly doubt it. I’m not saying they’re pretenders, but I really don’t think they deserve a #3 ranking. Can you really see them beating Ohio State or Wisconsin on the road? Highly doubtful. Plus, what happened with them when they played against New Mexico State. Yeah, the final score was 66-17, which is a pretty convincing victory. At the same time, New Mexico State only has two wins and is one of the worst teams in the country. How did they score 17 points on a #3 ranked team? That is not supposed to happen. This game was also very close in the 2nd quarter before TCU decided to wake up. If and when TCU plays in a championship game, I will be sure to watch on my Direct TV channels so I can watch reality take its course. Sorry TCU fans, but this is just the way I see it.

An Old Tradition For A New Generation

My husband and I started the tradition of taking our three young sons to a Christmas tree farm to choose and cut down each year’s “perfect” tree. Everyone bundled up for the journey, making sure they had stocking caps, mittens and boots on. The boys would take turns helping their father carry the axe to the car while I grabbed the thermos of hot chocolate from the kitchen and pulled the door shut on my way out.

Tall with short needles, short with long needles… whichever it happened to be, each year we found a Christmas tree that would stand proud above the gifts we placed under it.

It’s a generation later now and my husband and I still go to that same old Christmas tree farm. A few things have changed though… my husband has to carry the axe to the car himself; instead of hot chocolate, I put cappuccino in the thermos now; and before pulling the back door shut, I reach over and set the alarm on our home security system from AllHomeSecurity.com.

When we arrive at the tree farm, our grandaughter and grandson are there waiting for us. Their dad… our son, wants Grandma and Grandpa to introduce his children to an old family tradition.
